Bright White Drawers
Words: Padraig Ruad O'Maolagain
Tune: Long Black Veil (traditional)
Not long ago on a warm fall night
Someone went wandering, 'neath the moon's soft light
The witnesses were few but they were aware
That the one who was wandering was nearly bare
(Chorus)
She walks the camp in her bright white drawers
She visits visits the tents with their closed up doors
Nobody knows, nobody sees,
No one but Kat and Eddie
Like the rest of us, she had drunk deep
So we poured her into her tent to sleep
And we stayed up 'til we could drink no more
Then crawled off into our beds to snore
(Chorus)
The night was dark, and the camp was still
When she walked in her sleep to the next tent's sill
There she was told, "Go back to your bed"
So she turned around and did what was said.
(Chorus)
